Quintilian, born in Spain about 35 CE, became a widely known and highly successful teacher of rhetoric in Rome. The Orator's Education (Institutio Oratoria), a comprehensive training program in twelve books, draws on his own rich is a work of enduring importance, not only for its insights on oratory, but for the picture it paints of education and social attitudes in the Roman 5/5(5).

The Orators was Auden’s second book, published in when he was still only starting out in his career as a poet. It occupies 93 pages in Faber’s edition, and readily justifies its standing as a separate volume/5. Institutio Oratoria (English: Institutes of Oratory) is a twelve-volume textbook on the theory and practice of rhetoric by Roman rhetorician was published around year 95 CE.

The work deals also with the foundational education and development of the orator himself. Charles Morris assumed the massive undertaking of writing an account and explanation of the world's best orators and their orations.
